I am the Director of the Exercise Technology & Cognition (ETC) Laboratory is housed within the Kinesiology & Community Health Department in the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The ETC Lab aims to…

  1. Identify factors that contribute to exercise self-regulation across the life-span
  2. Test innovative, technology-driven interventions designed to enhance exercise adherence & cognitive functioning
  3. Explore adjuvant therapies to be used with exercise to improve exercise, cardiovascular and cognitive outcomes

Our research is currently funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA)and the National Institute on Child Health & Development (NICHD). We have been previously funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), UIUC’s Campus Research Board and Center on Health, Aging, and Disability (CHAD).
